Our Office Policies
Most people that seek orthodontic treatment have other important obligations during the day, usually involved with work or school. When active orthodontic treatment begins, each patient is seen every 4 to 12 weeks and some of these appointments will conflict with work or school schedules.
We have devoted considerable time and effort into designing our scheduling system. Here is what we want to do: First we want to see you on time for your appointment. Second we want to have adequate time during each appointment to do the necessary procedures. Third we wish to answer questions and update your treatment process. As you can imagine, a well-organized schedule requires considerable structure tempered with flexibility. Please email our scheduling coordinator regarding appointments, needed forms or general questions pertaining to our policies or orthodontic care at Scheduling@n-braces.com
Our Approach to Appointments
Emergencies, longer procedure and repairs, which are few in number, are scheduled during the morning or early afternoon hours. We do this so that an entire afternoon is not committed to a few patients, but rather is scheduled to accommodate as many families as possible for after-school appointments.
Some appointments are blissfully short. During your treatment there are times when the adjustments are completed quickly even though they may be quite technical. We have designed treatment methods that limit your inconvenience.
We ask for at least 48-hour notice when rescheduling an appointment, as we have set aside time to accommodate your specific treatment needs. Missed appointments or numerous appointment changes will inevitably result in an extension of treatment time and could result in additional charges.
Our goal in rescheduling appointment is to keep your treatment progressing and on time. Waiting for a convenient after school appointment time can delay treatment.
After the doctor has evaluated your records, we discuss your treatment with you in detail, including the cost for your particular case.
The cost of treatment depends on the severity of the patient’s problem. You will be able to discuss fees and payment options before treatment begins. We have payment plans to suit different budgets. We also accept assignment from most insurance plans and file the necessary papers to the insurance company. We work hard to make orthodontics affordable.
In an effort to keep orthodontic fees down while maintaining the highest level of professional care, we have established this financial policy:
- To fit your individual needs, financial arrangements can be made to extend your payments over a period of months.
- For your convenience, we accept payment by cash, check, most major credit cards and Care Credit.
- In cases of serious delinquency, treatment will be discontinued, although we will make every effort to accommodate patients with temporary difficulties.
If you have insurance, we will help you determine the coverage you have available. We ask that you assign your insurance benefit to us. The balance will be arranged for you to pay (see above). Professional care is provided to you, our patient, and not to an insurance company. Thus, the insurance company is responsible to the patient and the patient is responsible to the doctor. We will help in every way we can in filing your claim and handling insurance question from our office on your behalf.
